Self-Care

When I was younger, I ate healthly and had a work out routine, which I did almost every day.  This stopped a few years ago due to a back injury, as well as all the changes that were happening in my life.

I got out of the habit of “self-care.”  I have been examining what changed, and I realized how letting one thing go — my exercise routine, snowballed into letting several things go — my eating healthy, taking time for myself, etc.

While I have achieved great success in other areas of my life, this is one area that has been a struggle for me the last several years — and I have been using the excuse of time, injury, hormones, getting older…

So, the last few days I begin with a new routine of self-care.  How did I start this new routine?  By going to the hairdresser (covering my gray), getting a pedicure and a manicure.  I got the works!

Next stop was the grocery store — all healthy food!  I know many people say start slowly, but I am an all or nothing girl!

I created a plan — I wrote out that plan and posted it.  I also wrote down my “why’s.”  I have it out as a constant reminder for me on those days that I just don’t want to.

I heard not long ago that before age 40 exercise is a choice, after age 40 is something you have to do for good health — it is a must!

Are you also struggling within the area of self-care?  Join me today and let’s just do it!  Let’s take care of ourselves first, so that we can take care of others and accomplish all we want to!
